“What would MERL do” is the motto I have lived by ever since I could hold a hammer. Growing up I soaked up every bit of knowledge I could from my father, Merlin “Merl” Olson, who was a master carpenter and professional educator. In my professional career I have encountered obstacles, including situations that compromised integrity and quality. During these times I had to ask myself…“What would MERL do” The answer was always the same – never compromise quality for anything, including time and money. My father taught me to take pride in every project and to treat every home like it was my own.
